Which Web Accelerator Does TDISP.com Provide? TDISP.com provides the ATN Web Accelerator powered by SlipStream, the worldwide leader in Web Acceleration technology. The current version is SlipStream version 6.0.
Can anyone use the ATN Web Accelerator? The ATN Web Accelerator is only compatible with Microsoft Windows computers and Mac OS X computers at this time (please see the system requirements below). Also, in order to use the ATN Web Accelerator, you would need to be using our TDISP.com dial-up Internet access.
What are the system requirements?
PC's with Windows...
- Windows 98, ME, 2000 (Service Pack 4), XP, or Vista
- Pentium 200MHz or faster (or equivalent)
- 64 MB of RAM or more
- 11 MB free disk space or more
- Browsers: Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher, Netscape 6.0 or higher, Mozilla Firefox 1.5 or higher, or Opera 8.0 or higher

What does web acceleration do for me? Quite simply, it increases your web browsing speed by as much as 700% or more. It does this by compressing data that is transferred from the Internet to your computer. Less data to transfer = faster browsing speed!
What type of data will be accelerated? In general, web pages load at a much faster rate. You no longer have to wait and wait for web pages to display!
- Graphics are displayed faster.
- Text is displayed faster.
- Web-based email is faster.
- POP3-SMTP email is faster.
Is every type of file accelerated? No - certain types of files are already compressed, so that Web Acceleration software cannot compress these files any further. This includes many types of files that are downloaded to your computer, such as music or program downloads and streaming media.
Will my "connection speed" change? No - your "connection speed" will not change. Your connection speed is limited by your phone lines and your equipment. Web acceleration allows web pages to load on your computer at a faster rate, despite the fact that your connection speed does not change. One great feature of the acceleration software is that it has a built-in tool which allows you to see how well it is performing.
Is there anything else I should know? Yes - the more times you visit a particular page, the faster that page will load. The first time you visit a page, it might load 50% to 100% faster than normal. After several visits to that page, it could load 300% to 700% faster. In other words, your favorite pages will load the fastest.
What are my other options for speeding up the Internet? Only expensive broadband (DSL, cable, satellite) Internet services will allow faster speeds on the Internet.

When and how much will you bill me? The amount and frequency of your billing will depend on whether you pay for your Internet service month-to-month, or if you pre-pay for multiple months of Internet service at a time....
If you pay for Internet service monthly, we will charge you only $1.50 when you sign up for the Web Accelerator service. Then, the regular Accelerator rate of $2.95/month will be added to your monthly Internet access payments on all future billing. Of course, you may cancel the Web Accelerator portion of your service at any time and the $2.95 additional amount will be removed from your monthly billing.
If you pre-pay for Internet service (if you pay 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months at a time), we will charge you only $1.50 when you sign up for the Accelerator service. Then, beginning one month from the day that you sign up for the Accelerator, we will charge $7.50 every 3 months for 3 months of Accelerator service. In other words, the Accelerator service will be a separate charge of $7.50 every 3 months. This rate is a savings of 15% compared to the $2.95 monthly rate. Of course, you may cancel the Accelerator portion of your service at any time and no further billing for the Accelerator will occur.
IMPORTANT: There are NO REFUNDS for any Web Accelerator charges. We have priced our Accelerator at nearly half of our competitors' rates, plus we are allowing you to start using the Accelerator for only $1.50. We prefer to keep the price low, rather than having to raise it in order to compensate for spending time, money, and resources calculating and processing refunds. If this is not acceptable to you, please do not sign up for the Web Accelerator.
