TDISP.com is now offering premium high-speed dial-up Internet access featuring the ATN Web Accelerator, resulting in web browsing speeds that are 3 to 7 times faster than any standard dial-up Internet service can provide. This is exactly the same type of Web Acceleration used by some of the nation's biggest Internet Service Providers (including NetZero HiSpeed), at a fraction of the cost.
Please read the questions and answers below before signing up for the Accelerator...
Which Web Accelerator Does TDISP.com Provide? TDISP.com provides the ATN Web Accelerator powered by SlipStream, the worldwide leader in Web Acceleration technology. The current version is SlipStream version 6.0.
Can anyone use TDISP.com's Web Acceleration? In order to use our Acceleration, you will need to be a customer of our TDISP.com dial-up Internet access. (If you are looking for Web Acceleration that you can use without switching to a new Internet access provider, try our ISP Booster service.) The Accelerator is only compatible with Windows and Mac computers at this time. Please see the system requirements below.
What are the system requirements?

- Pentium 200MHz or faster (or equivalent)
- 64 MB of RAM or more
- 11 MB free disk space or more

What does Web Acceleration do for me? Quite simply, it increases your web browsing speed by as much as 700% or more. It does this by compressing data that is transferred from the Internet to your computer. Less data to transfer = faster browsing!
What type of data will be accelerated? In general, web pages load at a much faster rate. You no longer have to wait and wait for web pages to display!
- Graphics are displayed faster.
- Text is displayed faster.
- Web-based email is faster.
- POP3-SMTP email is faster.
Is every type of file accelerated? No - certain types of files are already compressed, so that Web Acceleration software cannot compress these files any further. This includes many types of files that are downloaded to your computer, such as music or program downloads and streaming media.
Will my "connection speed" change? No - your "connection speed" will not change. Your connection speed is limited by your phone lines and your equipment. Web acceleration allows web pages to load on your computer at a faster rate, despite the fact that your connection speed does not change. One great feature of the acceleration software is that it has a built-in tool which allows you to see how well it is performing.
Is there anything else I should know? Yes - the more times you visit a particular page, the faster that page will load. The first time you visit a page, it might load 50% to 100% faster than normal. After several visits to that page, it could load 300% to 700% faster. In other words, your favorite pages will load the fastest.
What are my other options for speeding up the Internet? Only expensive broadband (DSL, cable, satellite) Internet services will allow faster speeds on the Internet.
So, how much does it cost? That's the best part. Compare the following...
- ATN Web Accelerator (to be used with our TDISP.com Internet service)
$2.95 per month
- NetZero HiSpeed (the same Accelerator, but with their Internet service)
$5.00 per month
- OnSpeed (can be used with any Internet service)
$49.99 per year
- ISP Booster (can be used with any Internet service)
$2.95 per month
